SUTASI WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Asia Sounds today announced the Overall Winners of SUTASI, the opening season of the search for Asia’s hottest, contemporary music talent.
The Overall Sutasi Winner for 2009 is Biuret from South Korea
The Overall Songwriter Winner for 2009 is Peejay from South Korea.
The Sutasi 2009 Grand Finalists were:
• North East Asia - Liu Jin (Beijing China), Infinity of Sound (Seoul, South Korea) and Biuret (Seoul, South Korea)
• South Asia – Nikhil D’Souza (Mumbai, India), Jalebee Cartel (Delhi, India) and Cassini’s Division (Kolkata, India)
• South East Asia – Jessa Mae Gabon (Philippines), The Great Spy Experiment (Singapore) and Kadangyan (Philippines)
The Grand Finalists were judged by a panel of internationally respected music industry professionals, together with telephone and internet voting from audiences across Asia.
South Korea has truly taken over the Sutasi Finals with both winners coming from Seoul in South Korea. The judges’ decision was very difficult as the talent presented to them was so strong and yet very different and quite original.
Asia Sounds will be organising several live international shows for Biuret over the next twelve months. The first live International show will be at the One Movement For Music Festival, Perth Australia in October 2009, where Biuret will appear alongside a stellar line up of international acts.
One Movement for Music Perth (OMFM) has firmly positioned itself as the most important music industry event in the Southern Hemisphere. SUTASI’s goal is to provide the opportunity for talented Asian artists and their music to be heard and acknowledged internationally, and to launch them on the global stage.
The winners will share in over one million US dollars in cash and prizes, including the opportunity to co-write with successful & international songwriters, record an album with commercially successful producers, global marketing and promotion, in addition to the star role in a music video for worldwide release.
