SUTASI is being filmed at the the National University of Singapore Cultural Centre on 3rd 5th & 7th October 2008. Singaporeans are invited to be seen on TV around the world by being part of the audience. Following a widespread search throughout Asia for the hottest, up and coming music and artists, a number of distinguished and illustrious members of the global music and entertainment industries have arrived in Singapore to record the first of the SUTASI episodes for worldwide distribution.
99 Finalists from 13 countries across Asia will be performing for the cameras under the direction of industry icon who are used to working with the world’s biggest artists.
Director of the programs is Anke Thommen. Over the years Anke has been involved in hundreds of music videos and commercials including award-wining projects like Outkast’s “Hey Ya” and Beyonce and Jay Z’s “Crazy In Love”, and has worked closely with top artists such as Missy Elliot, JLO, Celine Dion, Aerosmith, Dave Mathews Band and Shania Twain. Anke has worked on the creation of video content for some of the world’s biggest live acts such as Ricky Martin, Rain and Madonna.
Executive Producer, Gayle De Poli is an Emmy Award and Peabody Award winning producer who has worked all over the world in a number of production capacities. With a strong concentration in music, Gayle produced “Melissa Etheridge Live at Grand Central”, which led the way to a series of music performances in iconic locations. Gayle was the Technical Consultant and Liaison to CBS for the season finales of “Survivor”. She was also Technical Producer and Liaison for “Rock Star: INXS” as well as “The Contender”, and Technical Producer for the Live Finales of both “Apprentice: Donald Trump” and “Apprentice: Martha Stewart” on NBC. The recently released “Imagine in Cornice” an HD film of Pearl Jam’s 2006 tour in Italy was technically produced by Gayle. She was the chief of the award winning crews for “The Evening News w/Dan Rather”, “60 Minutes” and “The NFL Today Show”. Gayle also substituted on all of the CBS East Coast Daytime Drama.
Executive Music Director of SUTASI is Ray Chew, a world renowned director, composer & producer. Ray has performed with countless legendary artists including Sting, James Taylor, Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick, Elvis Costello, Smokey Robinson, Pastor Shirley Caesar, Diana Ross, Mary J. Blige, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys and Quincy Jones. Ray’s recent work includes the original score of “Super Sweet 16 – The Movie” and providing music for Donald Trump’s Miss Universe, Miss USA and Miss Teen USA franchises. He was band leader for NBC’s hit series “The Singing Bee!”. Ray was also Musical Director of the 2007 BET Awards and the 7th Annual BET Celebration of Gospel which resulted in critical acclaim throughout the musician and artist communities. He can be found every Saturday night as Musical Director on the U.S. program “Its Showtime at the Apollo” – the longest running TV show in syndication.
SUTASI the TV Show will broadcast across Asia as well as internationally following the Grand Final to be held in the US in mid-2009.
